Jewish girls generally have excellent genetics for good nails and Streisand was one of them.
She writes in her bio how her mother wanted her to be a secretary - so rebellious Barbra grew her nails too long to use a typewriter because all she wanted was to be a singer.
Back in the 60s when I was a young man there were a lot of social taboos about dating girls outside your social/ethnic category but I sure lusted after those Jewish girls with awesome nails.
