Wow! Something you don't see every day. In the New York Times of all places, there was a recent news article with photos from protests in Texas. Spanish is becoming the business language in Texas more and more every day (we had a meeting in San Antonio last year mainly in Spanish), and so not surprising even the council meetings, public protests and hearings tend to be filled with Spanish signs.

Which is awesome, because the Texas Latinas who hold those signs tend to be very hot and they love to wear their nails very, very long and dagger-like. I sort-of doubt the NYT photographer was looking for this-- tho who knows, maybe we have a closet nailpassionite in their ranks-- but wow, he couldn't have captured a better example of the long nails on the gorgeous Latina phenomenon down there. I was blown away, her nails are longer than even many of the featured ladies here, dagger style and pointed, dark polished and simply sexy. Designed up too, she has a big rhinestone on each of her nails.

In case you don't spot her right away, she's the smoking Latina on the right with the tough-girl sunglasses, holding up the sign "Este incidente no nos define". I've never been the political type on any side but I'd attend any protest that sexy Latina is at just for the pictures.

But there is one thing that raises my eyebrows. Spanish is becoming a business language in the US? I'm not sure if that's a great thing... People speaking different languages usually leads to friction between groups, and puts them further apart.
