What a wonderful day to witness these beauties!

@Pinkkeinail on IG posted the measurements of her LNBs. Lovely results and pictures. Wow, I can‘t stop staring at them!

If the measures are correct, the nailbeds are longer than Ruru

Really incredible what treasures our universe has gifted some women with. Especially Japanese women do have a tendency for developing LNBs. Some time ago I went to a Japanese restaurant in my city, the waitress had very attractive nail beds. My favorite was her thumb lol. It’s moments like these where I think, there must be so many beauties living their life completely unaware of what rare gems they posess!

On another note, it would be extremely interesting to learn about, what genetic information makes certain ethnicities develop this higher frequency of long nail beds, and why it happened in history. Are there any evolutional advantages for women in some regions to have them? As commonly known, these parts of the world are roughly East Asia (Japan, Korea, China), Slavic nations (Russia, Ukraine, Poland) and the Indian subcontinent. Whereas Western Europe and North America are rather disappointing in this field…

Any biology experts?

Technically, nails are an archaic feature humans have inherited from our proto human and ape ancestors. Those ancestral species had much stronger and often bigger nails which they used as tools for offensive purposes, like claws. But when humans evolved, we stopped needing them since we can make and use tools, so over generations our nails got weaker. We still have nails after all these millenia because they aren't harmful and are sometimes useful, but again, we can't use them for any physically demanding tasks as they're weaker.

Now, for the question of why certain ethnicities have high frequency of long nail beds and others don't, it was entirely up to chance, and not due to any evolutionary pressures, in my opinion. Understand that there were FAR fewer humans back in the stone age (Paleolithic+neolithic) than today. The few ancestors of East Asians, Slavics and Africans happened to have a higher frequency of long nail beds, while the few ancestors of other ethnicities had a low frequency. Long or short nail beds don't follow any geographic or climactic pattern, as ethnicities who live in very different climates such as Russians and Africans both have LNB's, while ethnicities who live in very similar climates like Poles and Germans don't share the feature. Poles have lots of LNB's while its rare in German women. It's also unlikely that LNB's were ever sexually selected for beauty, since there are so few of us who have ever appreciated them or even noticed them, and they're never mentioned in any literature, art or poetry. BTW, India has a very low frequency of LNB's, but since there are so many of us (yes, I'm Indian), you still find a lot of examples online and in media from that small percentage.

In summary it's just a coincidence from the disparate and small ancestral groups that some ethnicities have it and others don't.

Long nail beds are a main component of the foundation for ladies' ability to grow incredible nails.

My lady's nails.... I am curious to know how long her thumb nail beds are they are very long, but I don't want to weird her out by asking to measure.
