I love when Women get the longer slightly curved acrylics, I have seen it on more mature women (in my early 20s) and I love it so much. It reminds me of an instagram account I follow @dlb_long_nails. I also LOVE the contrasting color, dark reds, maroons, browns and black really pop on lighter skin tones. really nice nails hoping to see more in the future!

I love when Women get the longer slightly curved acrylics, I have seen it on more mature women (in my early 20s) and I love it so much. It reminds me of an instagram account I follow @dlb_long_nails. I also LOVE the contrasting color, dark reds, maroons, browns and black really pop on lighter skin tones. really nice nails hoping to see more in the future!

I know exactly what you mean. I've been wearing this same curvature (and more or less the same length) for many many years.
But there are very few places that still do this shape around here.
Those shapes that very young gals wear nowdays, both in shape and their lack of curvature, are, in my opinion, very ugly. Pointed nails can be very pretty, if they are slightly curved (I wore them in the past a few times). Those other shapes (I don't know what they are called), are downright ugly to look at (again, from my point of view. No desrespect meant).
The nails I wear are the "classic" shape, that was popular in the early 2000s I guess, or maybe late 90s. I can't remember..
Regarding colors: I agree, I love reds, dark red (wine red), dark brown etc. I'm also attracted to dark blue, especially those pearly or metallic ones. I used to hate dark green nails in past, but I'd like to try it in the future. I had fuchsia nails several times I think last year, also quite dark-sih. They were quite beautiful.
I used to wear all kinds of glitter nails years ago (gold, silver etc), but I think they are too girly...now I prefer simple, classic, elegant colors (esp. red and dark brown).
I saw dlb pics. I love her copper color. I'd love to have that color myself but I'm afraid it wouldn't look good on me, cause my skin tone is too light. Maybe in summer...I don't get artificial tans. Anyway I agree with you, her nails are very pretty. Mine have a little bit more curvature.
Also, I'd love to try french ones (same shape and length as the ones I have now), but again, my skin is too white.

Oh, and I forgot to mention dark purple. Purple, especially metallic-pearly dark purple, is of course stunning and super sexy haha..

One thing I do prefer from older nail styles is the more minimal approach. Long nails are attractive because they accentuate the natural beauty of the hand, One thing I notice about the newer nail styles, is that there is just too much going on. I hate the over accessory charms, excess rhinestones and other maximalist nail styles. I feel like curved nails break off less, maybe they are more structurally solid. I forgot to include blues but shades of dark blue and dark green looks so good now. some of my favorite colors on nails as well. DLB's glitter blue set is my favorite from her! Purple is also a really striking and mature color, depending on the shade. I think you should try the french tip, I think it could work for you! long curved french tip nails is such a classic mature nail style. I'm thinking Carmello from the Sopranos. I love long curved nails and retro 2000s nails style. hopefully a prominent celebrity or influencer can spearhead a curved nails trend.

Me too, I really dislike those new "overcrowded" styles. But I do like to have one small nail piercing. Only one, on one hand only. I used to have a little heart some years ago.
Yes, curved nails are solid and they have a bit of thickness. They never broke as far as I can remember.
Regarding french nails, I checked those you mentioned. I had in mind something like that, just a bit longer. Maybe adding a very slight layer of pearly transparent polish. I also like those french styles where the area between the white tip and the pink acrylic has a V shape, or a double V. Anyways, there are many very beautiful french styles I can do in the future. All very simple and elegant. One of the reasons I love french and red nails is that you can match them with basically any style and/or color of clothing. Red nails look elegant when wearing black or grey clothes, while wearing white they have a tender and sweet feeling to it. I don't really know how to describe it.. Depending on what you wear, the general "feel" changes completely.
Anyway, I'm really glad to hear your opinions and ideas.

Actually, I LOVE pierced nails, especially when used right, it gives such a punk edge to the nails depending on the set. Yes! I agree completely. the simplicity of styles like french tip goes with a lot of outfits and colors. V shaped french tips look more sharper and deadly! I support your taste in nail styles. Such a lovely image thank you for sharing that shade of brown is so elegant and mature. the brown set you have goes well with your Maroon colored jacket. What was your favorite set you ever had? how do people respond to your nails in public, do you receive compliments?

By V shape I didn't mean pointed nails (those I had in the past). What I meant is that the line between the white and the pink/nude part of french nails has a V. Or two Vs.
That coat is really nothing much, I only wear it if I go out a few minutes to buy something. I certainly don't wear it if I want to look prettier. And by the way I have to wash it, haha.
What was my favourite set? That's a very difficult question. I'll have to think about it, but my friend is flying in today to visit me and I haven't seen her in years, so I'll reply in a few days..
In public, I do receive compliments now and then. What people think about them, well, is of course very subjective I guess. Feelings tend to be very polarized. There's no real middle ground for this. At least in my experience. Some people hate the idea of very long nails. Other people find them absolutely stunning. Some people just stare without saying anything.
The main reason that I have long nails is that I simply love them, always had, even when I was little. And i love the feeling. So, it's mainly about myself. But I won't deny there's another thing as well. There's no polite way to put this: if I want to be completely honest, I must say that I love the idea of people fantasizing about my nails, especially if they are complete strangers.

PS: thanks for the edits, this way I can have some idea about the look of different colors to choose in the near future.
